Boss Mechanics

The Smoky Aura

Peng Meng's signature is the smoky black aura that clings to certain swings. Smoke-marked attacks drain your Sha-Chi through block — guarding them is a donation. The counter is in the input grammar: they dodge like red-flash attacks, preserving your gauge instead of feeding him.

Axe Trajectory Games

The Axemaster's swings are wide, committed and readable — each one is a parry window if the attack is blue-flashed and a movement problem if it is smoke-marked. He punishes panic more than aggression: his longest recovery windows come right after his biggest swings.

Step-by-Step Strategy

Step-by-Step

Bring a two-handed weapon in your second slot — his guard rewards heavy Guard Break. Loop: light strings to pressure, parry the blue flashes, dodge every smoke attack, and switch weapons the moment your Sha-Chi dips to reset it. Spend heavy Sha-Chi combos only on his post-swing recovery windows.

If your gauge is constantly empty, count your blocks. Against Peng Meng, every block of a smoke attack is the problem — retrain the reflex to dodge instead.
